Understanding how contracts move through different states helps you manage your gigs effectively.

Contract States

StateCan Edit?Can Void?Next Action
Draft (Not Sent)YesN/ASend for e-signature
Sent (Awaiting)No*YesWait for signatures
CompletedNoYesTrack payments
VoidedNoN/ACreate new contract

*Editing a sent contract voids the current envelope and requires re-signing.

Voiding a Contract

  • Voids all existing signatures
  • Cannot be undone
  • Creates a "Voided" status in your dashboard
  • You'll need to create a new contract and resend

Changing Client Email After Sending

You cannot change the client email on a sent contract. Void the contract, create a new one with the correct email, and resend.

Deleting a Contract

Contracts can be deleted from the purchase page. Deletion is permanent. Voiding is preferred when you may need to reference the contract later.

Limitations

  • Single client signer only (no multiple signers or corporate approval chains)
  • Cannot add co-performers to the same contract
  • Duplicating/cloning a contract is not currently supported (use Templates as a workaround)
