- You must have a Filing Credit available

TIN Verification
After a team member completes their W-9, the IRS verifies the name matches the TIN. This typically takes about 24 hours.

|---|---|
| Pending | IRS is checking |
| Match | Name/TIN verified — ready to file |
| Mismatch | Name/TIN don't match IRS records |
If TIN Mismatches
Two options:
- Request New W-9 (Recommended) — Send an email asking them to correct their info. Common fixes: use legal name instead of nickname, check for typos.
- File Anyway — Proceed with the mismatched TIN. Risk: IRS may reject or send a notice.
